Historical Review of the Development of the Chinese Acupuncture

In order to facilitate medical researchers of the Western countries to have an accurate knowledge of the course of development of acupunctural medicine, and its prolongated history, the author, who has been devouted over sixty years in studying acupunctural medicine, feels that there is an acute need of a truly comprehensive and authoritative book specially dealt with the subject on the history of the development of acupunctural medicine. In the past thirty years, the author has published over a dozen of books on various subjects pertaining to acupuncture, and tens of thousands of copies of his publications have been circulated throughout the World. In addition to his acupunctural clinic practice, he has been lecturing on acupunctural medicine, and his students of different nationalities numbered over one thousand. He, therefore, feels that it is his unavoidable responsibility and obligation to write such a book which will be the first one of its kind. He decided to undertake such an arduous task, consulted with numerous of historical records, files, and publications both in Chinese and in other languages, and compiled a comprehensive yet concise book entitled "A History of the Development of the Chinese Acupunctural Medicine" in order to clarify some of the misleading and erroneous statements regarding the acupuncture and to strengthen the confidence of the Chinese medical world.
