![The Essential Movements of T'Ai Chi The Essential Movements of T'Ai Chi](https://www.satas.com/5082-large_default/the-essential-movements-of-t-ai-chi.jpg)
The author, John Kotsias, is my good friend. I know that he is a linguist, a professor of mathematics, a passionate martial artist, an exceptional practicing humanist. He combines these attributes with an obsessive desire to widen the spectrum of Tai Chi Ch'uan without sacrificing the classical virtues.

I feel very little urgency to comment on the text itself, as that exercise might obscure the important focus, which is to encourage fresh input toward the universal flowering of the art of T'ai Chi Ch'uan, which millions have considered the greatest physical culture system ever devised, and which the Chinese regard as the jewel of their integrated culture.
I do believe quantitative to qualitative changes occur as more people and minds and cultures participate in this great system of human betterment. Kotsias' book is part of that process.
